Every calculator turns your measurements into volume, then into the units suppliers sell by: cubic yards, tons and bags. The formula sits on the same page as the calculator so you can check it by hand. Material weights are typical figures, and each calculator lets you replace them with your supplier's number.

How we check the numbers
